Here’s to always having Paris.
Here’s to I Love Lucy reruns.
Here’s to blowing kisses to Tony Curtis.
Here’s to Rhett’s smile.
Here’s to all the screams on Hitchcock night.
Here’s to the mid-Atlantic accents.
Here’s to swing dancing all night long.
Here’s to love that lasts centuries.

Here’s to the legends that lived on.
Here’s to crying in black and white.
Here’s to oversized cameras.
Here’s to singing and dancing in the rain.

Here’s to the magic of the Oscars.

Here’s to beating death.
Here’s to Classic Hollywood.

Don't you just adore Old Hollywood too, darlings?
I watched Pillow Talk for the first time the other night, and fell head over heels in love with it all, all over again!

The smokin' hot heroines, full of verve and swagger with a touch of sweetness - and oodles of style...!
The leading men - whether it's Cary Grant pouring Deborah Kerr a glass of pink champagne in An Affair To Remember or Gregory Peck whisking Audrey Hepburn around Italy on a moped in Roman Holiday, these heroes of old were always tall, dark, handsome, and totally charming [well, Robert Redford was tall, golden-haired and handsome, but you get the idea!]!
My hero of il giorno has to be Rock Hudson...
[Love this! And, by the by, in a similar vein, I also adore Minnie Pony's hilarious pinboards, with titles such as "I Am Going Away For The Weekend with Rock Hudson," and "Cary Grant and I Are Dating, This Is What I Wear, Deal With It." As Ms Minnie writes, "I am a high maintenance and impractical fantasy girlfriend, which is the best kind! There'll be no camping, but I encourage trips to Capri, Bulgari, and constant witticisms." Hear hear!]
And then, of course, there's the romance of it all! From the light-hearted love affairs, bubbling with warmth and wit...
...to the heart-breakingly beautiful, doomed liaisons, full of drama and passion and tearful goodbyes...
"Sigh!* Just take me back to Old Hollywood, cruel world...!
Love, cocktail umbrellas and black satin gloves xxx
