For every woman, every outfit is a hopeful spell, cast to influence the outcome of the day...

...No wonder every woman's first thought is, for nearly every event in her life - be it work, snow or birth - the semi-despairing cry, 'But what will I wear?'

When a woman says, 'I have nothing to wear!,' what she really means is, 'There's nothing here for who I'm supposed to be today.'"

-Caitlin Moran

Ola, chicas! I don't know about you, but I think Ms Moran is far too gloomy about the glorious dilemma of getting dressed! Doesn't it make the day that little bit more magical - the deliberating over what will tell all the world, loud and clear, exactly what you want to say today?

I have two quite sartorially inspiring occasions to dress up for this week... first of all, a rather fabulous business brunch in London with the wonderful wedding company I've been interning for... and there is going to be a photo shoot! What to wear, oh, what to wear... I want to look something like these unspeakably stylish ladies!:-

*Sigh!*

And, then, of course, there is the Churchill Spring Ball on Thursday - NEW YORK themed! I cannot wait to sip cocktails under the Statue of Liberty, dressed to the nines with all my favourite Guys 'n' Dolls! I can't wait to show you my dress...!

PS. Please do leave a Sparkles & Crumbs-style comment on my latest Chic Weddings posts - Dior rings out of a daydream and the true meaning of love, anyone?

HELLO YOU DARLING GIRL!
Oh how i've MISSED you in my life! (though I tell other people about you all the time and have turned several friends into Sparkles and Crumbs aficionados!) What a DIVINE POST. It makes me want to hit the thrift stores and find something vintagey fabulous. Mayhaps you should break out Breakfast at Tiffany's and Funny Face and get a little Audrey Inspiration for your New York themed festiveness?
Long live girls who know how to dress the part!
tulle skirts, pink shoes, and red lipstick,
-Ches
