They brought us back to a better time in history...

...The free world relished every move and utterance of this most celebrated couple on the planet. The world could use more days like that."

-Joe Caprio

Oh my Greg Peck - they really did it! Wasn't it wonderful?

I hope you celebrated the Royal Wedding of the current Duchy of Cambridge [AMAZING!] in style, signorinas! My beloved fellow theologian and I were in the college common room at 9:30 am with two bottles of champagne, a punnet of strawberries, a tiara and a commemorative tin of McVities biscuits to delight at every moment of the proceedings. We felt just like Fred Astaire and Jane Powell in the Royal Wedding movie! Of course, the audience soon swelled for the ceremony itself - and all of them a bit bemused by our dress-up, and we were the only two who stood up and saluted to sing God Save The Queen! Honestly, it's an event, philistines! Get out of your tracksuits and have some pride!

And wasn't The Dress absolute perfection? With the Grace Kelly inspiration and borrowed Cartier diamond tiara, she looked every inch a fairy-tale princess, non?

And, of course, no royal wedding worthy of a Disney happy ending would be complete without two wicked stepsisters [sorry, Eugenie and Beatrice, but that would definitely be you!]...

...and an adorable little sidekick. How cute was the Prince's three-year-old goddaughter, Grace, as put-upon bridesmaid?!:

Kate looked just as stunning for the wedding reception later on... ah, McQueen fit for a Queen...

...and just LOOK at that eight-tier centrepiece! Although I would definitely go for William's chocolate biscuit cake...

Here's to a happy honeymoon weekend [and a first royal visit to my beloved hometown and their new Dukedom pronto!] for the Prince and his Duchess.

What a day! Dreams do come true, there are real royal romances, and there is nothing more magical than true love triumpant!

"One of my philosophy professors lectured wildly about love once, yelling: 'When you’re in love with someone, that person is the lighthouse of your universe.'

(I scrawled it inside Science and Poetry in pencil - 'lighthouse of your universe' - as if I would ever forget that phrase.)

He was a delightful caricature of his position. I could swear he literally tore his hair out while howling at us. He went on, 'Nothing means as much without that person.'

One of the men in the class repeated, incredulous, half-laughing, 'So you’re saying you can’t enjoy, like, a vacation, without someone if you’re really in love with them?'

'Of course not,' the professor replied. “Not completely. You recognize beauty, but beauty means less if they don’t witness it with you. Beauty is less. You see something sublime and your first thought is that they should be there with you. It’s not as good without them. They illuminate. They make everything more."

I've been dreaming of a true love's kiss, and a prince I'm hoping comes with this

HEY, sweets! How excited are you about the Royal Wedding tomorrow?! Are you planning to watch it on TV? Celebrate with a picnic? Throw an old-fashioned street party?

I also can't wait to see Miss Middleton's much-talked-about wedding gown... I love this gallery of various fashion house's sketches of how they would dress her - my favourite's Valentino's!

I think wedding days should be absolutely magical - like fairy-tales - all something borrowed and something blue, bunting, fairy-lights, flowers, dancing until dawn... if I ever get married, I want to look like this!:-

And I would TOTALLY have this cake!!:-

That's why this Royal Wedding is such cause for celebration [even if you're anti-royalist and not even British!] - it's a tale of true love right out of a Disney movie. A kind, good Prince falls in love with an ordinary girl, and against all the odds, they have their happy ending.

I hope you find your Prince Charming, too, my courageous heroine. In the meantime, get yourself a replica of Kate's engagement ring from Accessorize [love it!]...

...and daydream away.

Let's all send Kate and her Prince all the best wishes in the world for...
