I honestly cannot wait for summer.
The brilliant blue of July skies. The warmth of the sun on your face. Walking barefoot and feeling the grass between your toes. The lap of the waves. Staying late on the beach as it empties and the evening draws in. Swimming in the sea. Sleeping outside under the stars. Ice cream. Your skin getting browner and your hair getting blonder. Playsuits and little summer dresses. Planning holidays.
"If you are very lucky, you’re allowed to be in certain places during just the right season of your life: by the sea for the summer when you’re seven or eight and full of the absolute need to swim until dark and exhaustion close their hands together, cupping you in between."

"But is it such a bad thing to live like this for just a little while? Just for a few months of one’s life, is it so awful to…nap in a garden, in a patch of sunlight, in the middle of the day, right next to your favorite fountain? And then to do it again the next day?"
-Elizabeth Gilbert

I love getting my 'summer wardrobe' out from the top of the closet...

[Want all of these outfits!]

[Want all of these outfits!]My summer-to-come news so far: I have an interview for my dream summer job next week. I would be working as an ambassador at the Pembroke College International Summer School - American and Japanese students come for an intensive few term-time-like weeks of lectures, formal hall and evening and weekend events which I'd help organise. Being paid to have afternoon tea, go on punts and take students onto the roof of King's chapel? Please please please!
And The Boy and I are already dreaming of a week's vacation somewhere hot and sunny...
Come on, summer months!

Awwww, this makes me dream about Summer...nice...but Spring would be a good start. It's still way too grey over here.
